

The most important [commandment]," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." – Mark 12:29-31 One night this past semester our youth ministry had a night of redefining who we are and what we do based on who God is and what He has done, is doing, and will do in the days ahead. These definitions were collectively answered by the youth ministry as a whole- one gathering of Christ followers united in Christ to know Christ and to make Him known. What is youth ministry? -a gathering, of all peoples, involved in God What are our goals? 1. To know Jesus by: a. Growing spiritually as a youth group b. Learning about Jesus c. Worshipping God 2. To make Jesus known by: a. Leading people to Christ b. Ministering to people and reaching out c. Growing (in numbers) d. Helping everyone have a relationship with Christ How do we accomplish these goals? -Talk to your friends about it - Quiet times -Missions (showing God’s love) -Inviting people to come to church -Sunday School -Reading our Bibles -Set an example (Christ’s example) -Church gatherings What is important to us? -Friends -The Bible (God’s Word) -Supporting each other -Seeing sinners saved -Family -Praising God -Salvation through Christ -Relationship with God -Discipleship -Evangelism -Ministry -Fellowship -Worship Who can be a part of this youth ministry? -anyone Who is our leader? -God Who is a part of this youth ministry? -we are and we hope that you will be too
