Adam Hughes has a BA in Speech Communications from UALR and a Master’s of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.  He is currently completing a PhD in Expository Preaching from Southwestern with an intended graduation in 2012. He is originally from the Pine Bluff area where he graduated high school, met and married his wife, and served his first church as pastor.  Adam and Holly have been married for almost ten years, and together they have two daughters, Ashlyn age five and Kenlee age three.  They have lived and served in Texas for the last seven plus years.  Adam has served churches in Arkansas and Texas, been a featured speaker and preacher in conferences, revivals, and camps in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Washington, and taught Expository Preaching at Southwestern’s extension center in Little Rock, Arkansas. 

Adam’s hobbies include reading and writing, golf, anything to do with Razorback athletics, and spending time with his family.

Adam and Holly believe God has called them to invest their lives and set up roots in Batesville for the purpose of glorifying God through sharing Christ with the lost.  Adam believes everything a pastor is must be based on a strong preaching/teaching ministry that honors the inerrant, infallible, sufficient, and authoritative Word of God.  For this reason, every sermon at West is designed to display a deep commitment to the exaltation of Jesus Christ through a purposeful focus on systematic exposition of the Bible.
