Private devotions (private quiet time) are like the manna from heaven that the children of Israel gathered each morning in the wildnerness.

Today it is necessary for us to partake of the "Bread of Life" daily for spiritual sustenance. Jesus said " Moses gave you not the bread from heaven; but  my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of GOD is He which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life to the world.....I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE; he that cometh to Me shall never hunger."  (John 6:32-33)

Fellowship we have with Christ in prayer and His Word is our "daily bread". The children of Israel gathered their manna six days a week  and God provided enough on the sixth day to last the seventh day. There was plenty for all, and all were satisfied, each one to his own need.

Our "Manna" too should be daily seven days a week.  There is an adequate supply of God's love and grace for each of us - not too much or too little.

Just as neglect of food causes our body weakness and illness, so lack of the "Bread of Life" daily causes spiritual weakness and lack of spiritual strength to face temptations, trials and disappointments of life. God is aware of our physical and spiritual needs, and He asks us to pray that they will be supplied.

What is my prayer today?   "Lord, give us this day, our daily bread."
Hope to see you Sunday with an appetite for God's Word, His Holy Manna!

Prayerfully yours,
Bro. Bob
