For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

It is wonderful that you want to become a Christian. God wants you to make this important decision because He loves you. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to this world so you could know Him and have eternal life. Romans 6:23 summarizes what we must know and do in order to become a Christian.

You are a sinner and your sin separates you from God. "The wages of sin is death." Because God is holy, breaking God's laws separates us from Him. There is nothing we can do through our own human efforts to restore our broken relationship with God. Romans 3:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5 God loves you and offers you the gift of eternal life. "The free gift of God is eternal life". God has provided a way for you to know Him personally and spend eternity with Him in heaven. John 3:16, John 1:12, Romans 5:8. Eternal life is yours when you turn from your sin and receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. "Through Jesus Christ our Lord." As we leave our sinful life behind, we ask Christ to forgive us and let Him take control of our life. Acts 3:19, John 14:6, Romans 10:13.
