The Children's Ministry of West Baptist Church is designed to provide spiritual growth through Bible study and fellowship opportunities.
Currently, in addition to age-level Sunday School Classes, Bible learning activities include AWANA, Bible Drills, Vacation Bible School, and Children's Bulletins/Extended Session and Children's Choirs.
AWANA meets on Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. during the school months of September through May. This ministry for preschool through 6th grade is centered on scripture memorization, missions, and Christian living principles.
Bible Drills teaches many forms of Bible memorization in a competition format. Children can compete on church, association, and state levels.
Vacation Bible School is every Wednesday night from 6 - 7:30 p.m. in the summer months. It provides Bible stories, crafts and recreation activities. This year will find us venturing into the wilds of the Amazon!
Children's Bulletins are provided during the Sunday morning worship hour. The bulletin consists of Bible puzzles, mazes, and other such games that are based on the pastor's sermon. It is designed to reinforce the message in a format that encourages mental stimulation in fun and interesting activities. Also, during the Sunday morning worship hour we offer extended session for 4 and 5 year olds and kindergarten. These classes are held in their respective Sunday School rooms and provide a time of Bible stories and activity for the children.
Finally, fellowship activities are scheduled regularly for age groups 3 years old through 6th grade. Fellowship times help develop friendship between the children through times of meals, games and other means of entertainment.
Children are a vital part of the ministry program of West Baptist Church. We continue to look for ways to teach children about the love of Jesus, the importance of worship and the need to fellowship with one another in a Christian environment.
